Leon County Judge Judith Hawkins has lost her battle to remain on the bench after the Florida Supreme Court rejected her motion for a rehearing.
Justices decided to remove Hawkins from office last month after an investigation showed she ran a private business from her chambers. She also faced accusations she Hawkins faced accusations that she deleted financial records while under investigation. Hawkins asked for a rehearing, contending that the Supreme Court "overlooked and, in some cases, misapprehended points of fact and law."
Six justices agreed to deny Judith Hawkins' rehearing request, while Justice Peggy Quince was recused from the case.
