Pets Looking for People at Fairgrounds this Saturday

Anyone looking for a new furry friend will find a large assortment of adoptable animals in Tallahassee this Saturday.  Tom Flanigan reports organizers expect the “Take Me Home” pet adoption event to attract hundreds of people.

For whatever reason, the number of animals in need of homes has been growing steadily in the Capital Region.  That’s prompted rescue organizations to hold their own pet adoptions.  But Last Hope Rescue Board Member Morgan Parr says this is the first time nearly a dozen of them have joined forces.

“There’s going to be a number of different rescue groups there, including Last Hope Rescue and then also Friends of Wakulla (Animal Control) will be there.  I think that there will be representatives from a few other rescues in the area that will be there.”

That means a great variety of dogs and cats to choose from.  There will also be demonstrations by the Tallahassee Dog Obedience Club, food from multiple vendors and sales of animal care products and services.  The “Take Me Home” pet adoption happens at the North Florida Fairgrounds this Saturday from 9 until 3.
