Tallahassee, FL – C-Span, the nation's non-stop public affairs channel, has a fancy new bus that's on a national tour. Tom Flanigan hopped aboard the bus during one of its two Tallahassee stops today Wednesday.
Students at Cobb Middle School were gawking at all the big screen TVs and computers that displayed all of C-Span's televised and Internet services. Seventh grader Vadarious Shaver was impressed by everything he saw.
"It's a good site; a good channel to learn from that tells you all the resources and connections you need to know."
C-Span's Jennifer Curran admits middle schoolers can be a tough crowd. But she tries to make the kids understand that grownup politics and public policy can also impact their lives.
"The earlier that you start learning about what's happening in Washington, DC, the more educated you'll be; the more informed voter you'll be."
The bus also visited the "Comcast Digital Connectors" site at the Appalachee Ridge Technology Learning Center.
