Tallahassee, FL – The Gulf Specimen Marine Lab in Panacea will host a "Sharks and Chablis" fundraiser this Sunday from four until seven.
"It's a wine-tasting fundraiser with a seafood dinner and a silent auction, live entertainment from Sammy Tedder, a didgeridoo band, and we'll have flamenco dancing and Irish folk dancing."
Aquarium Assistant Manager Cypress Rudloe says the money raised will go toward a new Redfish building. It was the lab's biggest exhibit, but the tank was built in the 1980's and made of concrete. Saltwater caused rusting and the tank broke. The funds will also help the staff deal with local repercussions of the oil spill. The facility hosts twenty-thousand schools kids on field trips each year.
Tickets to "Sharks and Chablis" are 35-dollars. The event will be Sunday, May 23rd from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the aquarium on Clark Drive off U.S. 98 in Panacea.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling (850) 984-5297.
