Florida Supreme Court Justice Charles Canady is on Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump’s short list for appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Canady has served on the state supreme court since 2008, including a 2-year stint as chief justice. He’s also served in the U.S. House and helped to oversee impeachment proceedings against former President Bill Clinton. Justice Canady isn’t the only Floridian on Trump’s list of 21 possible candidates. South Florida U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno is also a potential nominee along with Georgia Supreme court Justice Keith Blackwell.
