Rate My Representative? New Tool Launches To Increase Lawmaker Responsiveness

Kevin Cate

Longtime political consultant Kevin Cate has new way for Floridians to get in touch with their representatives, and he’s partnering with the open-government watchdog group, the Sunlight Foundation. The project, called RocketLobby, allows constituents to rate the responsiveness of elected officials. Cate says the system is built to keep out form letters and other types of mass-letter campaigns that clog email boxes.

“There’s nothing lawmakers hate more than spam-- form emails from a million people they don’t know.  These are real constituents making real contact with their lawmakers. It’s a giant leap forward for advocacy campaigns across the state," he said.

The new tool isn’t limited to Florida—anyone in the United States can use RocketLobby to contact elected representatives, and grade responsiveness with reviews, and ratings.
