Democrat Wants Iran Sanctions

Florida House of Representatives

A Florida House committee is throwing its two cents into delicate nuclear negotiations between Iran and Western powers. As Jim Ash reports, the House Local and Federal Affairs Committee approved a memorial to President Barack Obama and Congress.

Democratic Representative Kevin Rader of Delray Beach railed Wednesday against the rogue nation, urging economic sanctions to deter it from acquiring nuclear weapons.

“Iran is the probably the largest state sponsor of terrorism throughout the world, on every continent on the planet.”

The committee approved the measure the same day a Quinnipiac poll showed Florida voters overwhelmingly prefer reaching an agreement to reign in Iran’s nuclear program and lift existing sanctions.
