NFIB: Wave Of Regulations Hurting Small Businesses

The National Federation of Independent Businesses of Florida says Federal business regulations are drowning small businesses in the state. The group is warning government leaders about the threat of what it calls “President Obama’s Regulatory Tidal Wave.” Florida’s small businesses can’t grow jobs when they’re facing a wave of regulations. That’s according to NFIB Florida Executive Director Bill Herrle. And  during a Thrusday conference call Florida Congressman Steve Southland said that could slow the state’s recovery following the recession.

“So much of these regulations have absolutely zero basis of understanding on the economic impact of these regulations once they’re put forward. In many ways, the regulators and  bureaucrats who force these regulations upon the people have a “ready, shoot, aim” philosophy having no idea of the unintended consequences," Southerland said.

NFIB officials cited a Gallup poll that said about 85-percent of small business aren’t hiring, about half because of regulations.
