Tallahassee, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol is gearing up for the five-day Thanksgiving Holiday. James Call reports there will extra patrols on the state's highways.
Troopers say they will be targeting impaired drivers and speeders starting Wednesday and continuing through Sunday. They will also be watching drivers who follow too closely and other aggressive driving behaviors.
The Patrol is urging people to use seat belts and avoid distraction such as texting, talking on the phone and eating. It also advises that drivers should get plenty of rest before hitting the road and check the vehicle's fluid levels and tire pressure.If drivers need assistance along the Highway they can call the FHP at * 347.
