PSC in turmoil as director quits, says he was forced out

Tallahassee, FL – A former state senator will serve as interim executive director of the Public Service Commission. James Call reports, Curt Kiser will fill in for Tim Devlin who unexpectedly resigned Monday.

Devlin submitted a one-sentence resignation Monday stating that PSC Chairman Art Graham asked for it. Devlin joins four consumer-friendly commissioners to leave the regulatory agency in the past year. Chairman Graham.

"I can't tell you the conclusions that people jump too here. There is no retribution what so ever."

Graham responded to questions about a published report that he had met with a lobbyist unhappy with information requests Devlin submitted to a utility.

"I don't know where the article came from. I don't know how it was made up. But it is not true."

Devlin has worked at the PSC for 35 years. Former state senator Curt Kiser will serve as interim executive director until a permanent replacement is named.
