Internal medicine doctor Syed Zaidi [sigh-ED ZAY-ed-dee] shares his experience treating severely ill -- and mostly unvaccinated -- COVID-19 patients. He works at hospitals in Brandon and Bradenton. As misinformation has become the norm on social media, Florida State University’s Office of Critical Thinking Initiatives has undergone a change. The office was created as a 5 year, grant-funded seed project. Now that its time has ended, the office has morphed into a network of faculty teaching students how to think critically in their areas of study – and subsequently in the world. We know coral reefs can be a formidable defense to hurricanes and storm surge along Florida’s coast. Studies have shown reefs can reduce more than 90 percent of a wave’s energy.
