The focus has been on Florida this week in the presidential race, which is drawing ever tighter as election day draws closer. Ryan Dailey has more on how the race is likely to be a fight to the finish in the perennial battleground state.

Voting integrity advocates often push against casting ballots over the Internet. But disability rights advocates counter that method is more accessible than current options. Robbie Gaffney spoke with experts about the pros and cons of digital voting.

In about a month from now, all 160 members of the Florida Legislature are scheduled to return to Tallahassee, despite predictions that the COVID-19 pandemic could be worse than it is now. Steve Bousquet has this report on how lawmakers feel about coming back to the Capitol.

When Congress passed the 2018 Farm Bill it cleared the way for hemp to be grown across the United States. Hemp comes from the cannabis plant which is mostly known for its ability to produce marijuana which remains illegal. The difference between the two is simple: one gets you high, the other doesn’t. However, some store owners have recently started selling a version of hemp that produces a similar effect as marijuana, effectively blurring the lines. Blaise Gainey reports the federal Drug Enforcement Administration has attempted to ban the new product, but that’s not deterred business owners who are now exploiting a legal loophole.

The Apalachicola Bay is well-known for its oysters. But over the years as population, agriculture and management practices have led to less water flowing down the river that feeds the bay, the industry has started to collapse. What some might not realize is oysters aren’t the only industry depending on that water. Regan McCarthy reports the trees that make Florida’s famous tupelo honey also need water flowing through the Apalachicola River to survive.
