Williams Not Bothered By Sancho Endorsement In Local Elections Chief Race

Rep.Alan Williams (D)
Florida House of Representatives
Rep.Alan Williams (D)

Tallahassee representative Alan Williams is counting on his experience as a state legislature in his bid to run the Leon County Elections Office. Williams is challenging Supervisor of Elections Staffer Mark Earley to succeed longtime elections supervisor Ion Sancho. Sancho endorsed Earley’s bid for the job before Williams entered the race, but Williams says he’s not concerned.

“I welcome the opportunity to go before the voters and submit myself before them, and share what I believe is my leadership record, my commitment to this community, and I offer myself up as just another way of public service to this community.

Williams, who currently represents Leon and part of Gadsden County is termed out of the legislature this year. The Supervisor of Elections is a constitutional position and pays more than $100,000 a year.
