The Restoration of Voting Rights Work Group has approved a list of recommendations to send to the legislature. One proposal would enhance the Clerk of Court’s financial accounting system to include a breakdown of restitution, fines, and fees owed by felons.

It would also make any paper records available online. Department of State Secretary Laurel Lee chairs the group.

“What we have recommended is what appears to be necessary in order for Florida to comply with what was expressed by the voters in Amendment 4," said Lee.

The group approved 18 recommendations including creating a restoration liaison to help walk felons through the process. The group was created after more than 1 million felons got the right to vote in a  2018 amendment.
