A second officer-involved shooting in a week is under investigation by the Tallahassee Police Department. TPD says an officer was hit by a car and fired as it drove off.

According to the department, an officer spotted a vehicle deemed “suspicious” parked off Jackson Bluff Road at the Palmer-Monroe Teen Center. The officer approached the car and it took off, hitting the officer as it fled. The officer fired, and shots struck the vehicle, but it’s unknown whether the person  in it was injured.

The officer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident happened Saturday at 1:41 a.m. TPD says it’s interviewing witnesses and is asking anyone with information about the case to call them at (850) 891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
