Tallahassee Police Release Photos Of Suspect In Rash Of Car Burglaries

Tallahassee police have identified a suspect in a series of car burglaries around the city, but they’re short on specifics about the woman or where she’s operating.

Photos released by Tallahassee police Wednesday show a white woman with reddish-brown hair and a large, noticeable tattoo on her chest walking in a Target store, though TPD spokesman Dave Northway wouldn’t say in which of the two Tallahassee Target locations the photos were snapped. Northway says police have been tracking the woman for about a week. As to what led authorities to target her, Northway spoke only generally.

“Investigative techniques have led us that way and the surveillance video that we have,” Northway says.

In response, businesses in Tallahassee have begun putting up signs warning patrons to lock their car doors. Northway says the woman is believed to target parking lots where she can move quickly from one car to another, often taking credit cards and using the stolen plastic for fraudulent purchases.
