Swamp Stompers Embark on Extended Magical Musical Tour

Tom Flanigan

est on Saturday, July 13. The occasion also happened to be the launching point for one band's first international tour.

Well-known Tallahassee troubadour Del Suggs got Saturday's party started.

"Thanks for coming out to the 41st Annual Tallahassee Museum Summer Swamp Stomp!" he exclaimed from the stage before introducing the event's first act.

Suggs would be the day's final performer hours later. But among the groups playing first was Belle and the Beyond, consisting of Katherine Belle Long:

"Gosh, I love this festival so much!" she admitted.

She was joined by her musical partner Mickey Abraham. This was their last day in town before embarking on a Kickstarter-funded tour up the East Coast and into Canada. It was a trip Abraham hoped would kick their career to the next level.

"I do think so, actually," he said. "I actually do!"

Other acts at this year's Swamp Stomp included Hot Tamale, the New 76ers, Ben Edmund, Mimi Hearn, Brian Bowen and Lil' Grizzly.
