A neighborhood church on Tallahassee's South Side has literally risen from the ashes of a tragic fire 4 years ago. The new Greater Miracle Temple Church held its first services over the weekend of November 9.
In the wake of the fire in the summer of 2015, Church Pastor, Bishop Jacob Henderson said one of the first calls offering help was from another local pastor.
"And it was Pastor Huba," he recalled. "Not only did we sit down and talk, but he gave me the keys to his church. I have my own set of keys!" he exclaimed during his church's ribbon cutting ceremonies.
Pastor Daniel Huba from the Apostolic Church of Tallahassee admitted the hospitality went a bit longer than first expected.
"I had no idea it was going to be 4 years," he grinned. "A year, year-and-a-half...."
But now the new Greater Miracle Temple Church, on the same St. Marks Street site as the original, is again welcoming its congregants back haome.
