The Tallahassee Museum is mourning the loss a famous resident: Perky the Lucky Duck.
Perky the Lucky Duck lived up to her name. The ring-necked duck was shot three times by a local hunter, retrieved by a dog and refrigerated. Two days later the hunter opened up the fridge to find the duck still alive! Perky recovered at Goose Creek Wildlife Sanctuary, and lived out her remaining 9 years in a natural habitat at the Tallahassee Museum. Perky is survived by another duck who was also shot by a local hunter, refrigerated and lived.
