Police Respond After Five People Stabbed At Tallahassee Business, Dyke Industries

Update 12:35 p.m.  Police have identified the stabbing supspect as 41-year-old Antwann Demetrius Brown. 

Police say Brown worked at Dyke Industries for about three months. After Brown clocked in for work this morning officers say he got into a dispute and was asked to leave. He clocked out at 8:20 a.m. 

Pollice allege Brown then stabbed five people with a folding knife. Officers responded to the call at 8:37 a.m.

Five people were stabbed this morning at Dyke Industries on Maryland Court near a Tallahsasee industrial park. Police say the suspect has been taken into custody.

Officer Rachelle Denmark is one of the officers who arrived on scene.

“This morning at 8:37 a.m., the officers responded to Dyke Industries, which is located at 2011 Maryland Court, in reference to multiple victims that had been stabbed. TPD Officers were able to arrest the suspect and we have the suspect in custody at this time," Denmark said.

When police arrived, they found multiple people with stab wounds who needed immediate medical attention and were transported to Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.

A spokeswoman for TMH said none of the five victims were in critical condition after the stabbings. One victim was in serious condition, two were in fair condition and another two were in good condition, said TMH's Danielle Buchanan.

The TPD’s Mobile Command Unit is on scene. As of right now, the identities of the suspect and victim have not been released. Tallahassee police spokesman Damon Miller would not give information about the potential motive, what weapon was used or what connection the suspect has to the business.
