Perspectives: Florida Dental Association

When is the last time you went to the dentist? Today, we bring the dentists, to you. The Florida Dental Association has launched a program called Florida’s Action for Dental Health-- an effort to address obstacles to dental care in the state. The organization wants state lawmakers to reinstate a program that provides student loan forgiveness for dental school graduates who work in public health or become Medicaid providers; and fund another that provides dentistry to disabled, elderly or medically fragile patients.  The FDA discusses the state of dental care and access in the Big Bend, and its efforts to make it better.

Guests: Dr. Jolene Paramore:  She chairs the Florida Dental Association’s Workforce Task Group, is Secretary of the FDA; and practices dentistry in Panama City.

We have Drew Eason, Executive Director/CEO, FDA: He has nearly 20 years of association experience in work-force training and state dental industries, and recently joined the Florida Dental Association in June 2013 as its executive director/CEO.

And Joe Anne Hart is the FDA’S Director of Governmental Affairs: She’s been with the association since 2005 and was previously the lead lobbyist for the Florida Association of Counties.
