Leon County Tax Collector incumbent Doris Maloy was running unopposed until Thursday, when a new face entered the race last-minute.
John Paul Bailey, a former Tallahassee Police Officer and City Commissioner, says he wants to continue serving the community.
“I love public service and I think that I would be able to do a lot of great things there that haven’t been done in the past probably. With the Tax Collector’s Office, I want to concentrate on convenience, courtesy, and customer service,” says Bailey.
Bailey is currently the President of the Killearn Homeowner’s Association.
