Gov. Scott Endorses Trump

State of Florida, Meredyth Hope Hall

Florida Governor Rick Scott is backing Republican front runner Donald Trump’s bid to be the party’s presidential candidate.

An independently wealthy political novice appears to be well on his way to the Republican presidential nomination.  Rick Scott says it’s reminiscent of his first campaign to be Florida’s governor.

He’s endorsing Donald Trump after the Republican front runner trounced the rest of the field in Tuesday’s GOP presidential primary.   Florida’s Attorney General Pam Bondi endorsed Trump just ahead of the vote.  Scott says the party needs to come together now to improve its chances in November.

But the comparison of Scott to Trump may not bode well for the party.  Scott’s tenure has led to often tense relations between the governor’s mansion and Republican power brokers.
