The Executive Director of Florida’s wildlife agency is leaving. He’s the latest to step down from a top role at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

When he first started working at the FWC, Nick Wiley began as a wildlife biologist. Now, as its Executive Director, he’s served the agency for 30 years.

Now, he’s leaving for a job as Chief Conservation Officer at Ducks Unlimited, a national wildlife habitat organization. He starts in January of next year.

Meanwhile, FWC’s current Chairman Brian Yablonski—who’s served in the role for 14 years—is also leaving.

Yablonski too will be starting a new role in January 2018 as the Executive Director of the Property and Environment Research Center, a national conservation research institute in Montana.
