Florida State University Football Head Coach Willie Taggart has been fired effective immediately.

FSU is 4-5 under Willie Taggart after losing their annual rivalry game to the University of Miami 27-10. Overall Taggart’s record was 9-12 as the FSU Head Coach.

After losing to Miami, the Seminoles had lost all 5 games to their in-conference rivals while under Coach Taggart’s lead. Last season FSU went 5-7, missing a bowl game for the first time since 1981. The team is now 4-5. Their remaining games are versus Boston College, Alabama State, and the University of Florida.

Willie Taggart’s contract buyout is $17 million.
