Leon Supervisor of Elections Ion Sancho

Former Leon County Elections Supervisor Ion Sancho says he’s worried about what could happen if Florida Governor Rick Scott is elected to the U.S. Senate. Sancho says Scott has used his position as governor to disenfranchise voters.

“From limiting early voting to illegally purging legal voters, refusing to extend voter registration when hurricanes hit out state, to creating an unconstitutional clemency system denying the right to vote to tens of thousands of citizens who have fully paid their debt to society,” Sancho says.

Sancho’s statement followed Governor Rick Scott’s announcement Monday morning that he will run for U.S. Senate. Sancho spoke on behalf of the Florida Democratic Party.
