Florida’s spiny lobster season will close next Saturday.

With the spiny lobster recreational and commercial season coming to a close April 1, harvesters will no longer be able to catch the crustaceans in state and federal waters for the next four months.

There will be a two-day recreational sport season in July.

Then, the spiny lobster season will officially reopen August 6th.

According to the Florida Department of Agriculture, spiny lobster is one of the top species caught and brought to shore.
