As Florida lawmakers return to the Capitol for another week of committee meetings, they will be tackling subjects ranging from underage marriage to texting while driving.

Sen. Lizabeth Benacquisto (R-Fort Myers) wants to stop child marriage in Florida. She’s behind a bill that would require both parties to be at least 18 years old to get a marriage license. Meanwhile Sen.Keith Perry (R-Gainesville)  wants motorcyclist 21 and under to wear a helmet. Under his bill, drivers over 21 must have an insurance policy for at least $10,000 to ride without a helmet. Another bill Senator Perry is pushing is to make texting while driving a primary offense  meaning a person could get a ticket for just that.
