FAMU Board of Trustees Meets

Tallahassee, FL – I spoke with the president of SACS they are in receipt of all the reports and they are being distributed to all 77 members to be voted on Dec. 11 '

That's the date. On December 11 the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools will issue its final say on the accreditation status of the university.

December is a hectic month for FAMU. By December 17, Dr. James Ammons, university president, plans to have a new head football coach who replaces former coach Rubin Carter who was fired two weeks ago.

But university officials are moving quickly. Key positions such as Athletics Director, Vice President of Finance and Chief Information Officer were filled Tuesday morning.

So, in seven days, the university will learn its accreditation status. In 13 days it will have a new head football coach. And, if all goes well, FAMU will be ushering in a happy new year. For WFSU-FM, I'm Lynn Hatter.
