"Electric People" Rock Lake Ella

Tom Flanigan

One of the Capital City's more unique bands gave an open-air concert at Lake Ella on Sunday (11/22).

The "Electric People" are the musical outreach of Pyramid Studios. The seven piece unit, consisting of a rhythm and horn section, is under the direction of Danny Wood.

"Their roles in the community are as musicians and it's wonderful," he said.

Richard Carton is a member of the brass section.

"I've been doing that for almost a year, playing the trombone," he smiled. "It took me a year to get it!"

And then there's Band President Elizabeth Haynes who has mastered a total of eleven instruments, ranging from violin to trumpet.

"Maybe I was born with Down's Syndrome and it did bother me a lot of times, but now I'm proud of it."

She said she's also proud of the entire program and how it helps people with developmental challenges realize their dreams. Pyramid Studios has been around for 21 years and serves 200 very creative clients.
