BikeTallahassee.com is down for now, but re-launches on Thursday night.
The bike website was created in 2010 to serve as an oasis for bikers in the area. It’s receiving a tune up to be more user friendly. City of Tallahassee Spokeswoman Heather Teter says the new site will continue to feature interactive bike maps, but users will also be able to choose routes based on their experience.
“So you can actually choose your comfort level by route," she says. “If you’re new to cycling you can choose a route that maybe not has as many challenges as a route that say an expert cyclist would.”
The site’s goal is to make cycling easy, safe and fun for everyone. There will be a re-launch event open to the public Thursday at night at six at the Domi Station on Railroad Avenue.
