Ten Florida School Districts are suing the state over a massive education law approved two years ago. The measure, known by its legislative moniker—House Bill 7069—made big changes to how charter schools are funded and created, and how school districts spend federal money on low-income students. Lynn Hatter reports an appeals court recently took up the case.
The Florida State University Athletics Department is joining with the Seminole Boosters to become a Direct Support Organization, or DSO. The new Florida State Athletic Association will serve as a private, nonprofit umbrella organization. But some are raising questions about accountability and transparency.
