A massive, industry friendly rewrite of state water policy continued churning through the Senate Wednesday. As Jim Ash reports, some critics contend the policy changes are a mile wide and only a few inches deep.

A discussion to extend the state’s gaming agreement with the Seminole Indian tribe for another year got weighed down by a gaming amendment pile on during its first committee hearing Wednesday. But Regan McCarthy reports the despite the heavy load the measure made it through the Senate Regulated Industries Committee Wednesday.

Drugs can play havoc on the body, but for some drugs the mode of delivery can be just as dangerous.  Nick Evans reports that’s why one Florida lawmaker wants to launch a needle exchange program in Miami-Dade County.

A one-year moratorium on new bachelor degree programs at Florida’s community colleges expires next month. But a proposal that would revamp how and when schools could establish new programs, has yet to clear the legislature. And as Lynn Hatter reports more than 100 programs have been created at the schools during the past eight years and the Board of Education has never rejected a single proposal.
