Candidates Gear Up For Final Debate

Politico

Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are about to head into their third and final debate with each hoping to out- shine the other on foreign policy issues. Much anticipation is in the air as the candidates make their final push.

Even though President Obama will be walking into the final debate with more on the job experience when it comes to foreign policy issues, Lynn University American Studies Professor Robert Watson said there is one thing both candidates can’t afford to do.

“If there is a major gaffe, there is no putting that genie back in the bottle. There is no fourth debate, fifth, sixth, seventh debate to make up for it. They’ve got to avoid a major gaffe,” Watson said.

Senior Advisor to Mitt Romney’s campaign, Bay Buchanan, said she doesn’t consider Romney being corrected by the moderator at the last debate about the Benghazi attack in Libya a fumble.

“His points that he made were solid and correct, we got some interference in the play,” Buchanan said.

The final debate goes live at 9 p.m. Eastern here at Lynn University.
