The Monticello Opera House is hosting Parker Music Academy’s presentation of Esther: The Musical August 5th and 6th. The show tells the story of Esther from the Bible through music. Tickets and information are available at monticellooperahouse.org.
The Southern Shakespeare Company presents a sword fighting workshop on August 6th, at 10 AM, at Tom Brown Park. After introducing stage combat safety protocols, participants will progress to basic striking and parrying positions, then more! This workshop is designed to address beginners' concerns and will provide more experienced movers and fighters with a refresher on the important essentials. The Jefferson Arts Gallery in Monticello has an exhibit called Sweetest Smiles of Summer on display through August 31st. The Members of Jefferson Arts Gallery have created works of Art that will bring a smile to your face. Gallery Hours are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10AM - 2PM and the exhibit is open to the public.
The Museum of Fine Arts at FSU has an ongoing exhibit called Shape Shifting: 35 Years of Late Modernist Prints. The exhibit features colorful, geometric and abstract artworks from the museum’s Permanent Collection, and it also features new acquisitions. It is open to the public.
