Evacuations are ordered by county, so make sure to check with your county's website for further details. To look up your evacuation zone, enter your addressinto this tool. If you receive an evacuation order, plan to stay with a friend or family member outside of an evacuation zone. Shelters should be used as a last resort. Officials urge residents to evacuate for their own safety.
Even if you do not reside within an evacuation zone, you may be ordered to evacuate by your local county government if you fall into one of the following categories: if you live in a low-lying area, flood-prone area, a manufactured or mobile home, an older home, or depend on electrically powered medical devices for survival. If you do not receive a local evacuation order and fall into one of these categories, the Florida Division of Emergency Management generally recommends you evacuate regardless.
