Should inmates be criminally charged when cell phones are found on their person? In Florida prisons, that can occur. But, in county jails, not so much. During a recent legislative debate, lawmakers discussed a bill making it illegal for local jail inmates to have cell phones within the facilities.

The last time voters revamped the judicial system was 40 years ago, when the Florida Supreme Court was elected and a cesspool of bribery, case fixing and political cronyism.

After railing against the Supreme Court’s rewrite of Republican redistricting plans, House Speaker Richard Corcoran is determined to strike back. But a  proposal for judicial term limits is getting off to a rocky start.
