Scott Narrowly Edges Out Crist To Win Second Term


Florida Governor Rick Scott has been reelected. After a bitter, expensive campaign against Democratic challenger Charlie Crist, Scott declared victory by a 1.3 percent margin Tuesday night. 

Scott carried 48.2 percent of the vote as of 11:30 p.m. Many precincts are still counting mail-in ballots. But Scott held enough of a lead over Crist's 46.96 percent for Crist to concede.

CD2 Democratic Challenger Graham: 'I Haven't Thought About Losing'

With only hours to go before polls close, both candidates in Florida’s Second Congressional District are trying to turn out supporters. The race is one of the closest, and closely-watched in the country.

Incumbent Republican Congressman Steve Southerland wants to be re-elected for the third time and his Democratic Challenger, Gwen Graham, is looking to score an upset. Graham says she’s confident she will win the contest, and hasn’t even considered losing.

Wyllie Effect On Scott, Crist Hard To Determine But One Will Go Down

Governor Rick Scott and Democratic Challenger Charlie Crist are neck-in-neck in the polls. The race is so tight some are suggesting Libertarian Adrian Wyllie could be the deciding factor in who gets the Governors Mansion.

With only days left until voters decide who will be the next Governor of Florida Scott and Crist are in a tight race. The latest poll by the Quinnipiac Polling Institute shows the race is tied for the current and former governor.  Peter Brown, assistant director of the polling institute, says every single vote counts.

Libertarian Gubernatorial Candidate Wyllie Running Statewide Ads, But Is It Too Late?

The Libertarian candidate for Governor is out with a new ad running statewide. Adrian Wyllie may not win the governor’s race, but experts say he could spoil the run for either Governor Rick Scott of Democratic challenger Charlie Crist.

Adrian Wyllie has fought to be taken seriously in the 2014 gubernatorial race, and despite being excluded from most debates and voter guides, he’s polling between seven and 13 percent. Now Wyllie is out with a statewide ads promoting his candidacy.

Latest Q Poll: Florida Governor's Race Close As Can Be

Scott (left) and Crist (right) each have 42 percent support, which is statistically the same as the results of a September Q Poll.

The Florida governor’s race could not be any closer between Gov. Rick Scott and former Gov. Charlie Crist. Today’s poll results from Quinnipiac University show the Republican and Democrat each with 42 percent support from likely voters.
