The Republican Party of Florida’s Chairwoman is mounting an aggressive campaign to keep her job.

Florida GOP Chairwoman Leslie Dougher helped orchestrate big Republican wins in the state during the last election cycle but she’s struggling to keep her job. Tuesday her campaign released letters and statements in support of her leadership.

The comments come from the likes of previous Republican Party of Florida leaders like Al Cardenas, and Florida State University President John Thrasher. Governor Rick Scott has also spoken is support of Dougher.

Former Governor Jeb Bush is moving a step closer to a possible 2016 presidential run. In his holiday message posted to facebook, Bush has confirmed he's exploring the possibility.

"In January, I also plan to establish a Leadership PAC that will help me facilitate conversations with citizens across America to discuss the most critical challenges facing our exceptional nation. The PAC's purpose will be to support leaders, ideas and policies that will expand opportunity and prosperity for all Americans."

Private Emails Show Gov. Scott Skirted Open Records Law

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Newly disclosed records are showing that Florida Gov. Rick Scott used a private email account to discuss state business.

The Scott administration turned over a batch of emails from a gmail account on Tuesday three months after the Associated Press first asked for them.

Most of the emails appear to be from 2011 and 2012. It is not a violation of law to have a private email account, but it would be a violation if someone asked for emails and the governor's office failed to turn them over.

American Voters Spilt on Obama's Immigration Move

American voters are almost spilt down the middle on their views about President Obama’s immigration move, according to a Quinnipiac University Poll released today.

The poll shows that 45 percent registered voters say the president should issue an executive order if Congress fails to act, while 48 percent say he should not.
