The state’s blood donation centers are sending resources to Texas hospitals affected by Harvey, now a tropical depression. OneBlood is asking Florida residents to give now.

Since the mass shooting in Orlando, there has been a huge response from people who want to donate blood. And, while the current blood donations are appreciated, some donation centers say they may need more people to donate next week.

OneBlood Offering Gifts to Blood Donors

Jul 3, 2013

OneBlood, Inc. formed when three not-for-profit Florida blood donation groups merged. This week they’ll offer incentives to donate blood. Giving a pint at one of the group’s “bloodmobiles” nets the donor a Wal-Mart gift card. On July 5, the bloodmobile will be at Wal-Mart at 322 N. Monroe St. from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and at McDonald’s at 3631 Mahan Drive from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. OneBlood spokeswoman Betty Roberts said the need for donors increases during the holiday.
