Fla Voters Grateful For In-Person Absentee Voting Monday

The Leon County Courthouse was one of several locations open across the state for In-person absentee voting Monday

Early Voting in Florida may have officially ended Saturday, but several Supervisors of Elections opened polling locations on Monday to allow for in-person absentee voting. People who showed up at the Leon County Courthouse said they’re grateful they avoided voting on Election Day.

The line at the Leon County Courthouse Saturday was so long, it circulated around the building and down the street, with people waiting for hours. But, Monday was a stark contrast for voters, like Stephen McDaniel, who stood in line for only a couple of minutes.

Gov. Scott To Vote Election Day

Florida Governor Rick Scott is expected to cast his vote on Election Day. And, he’s not shy about who he’s voting for.

“I want everyone to get out and vote, whether you got your absentee ballot in, did early voting, or show up on Election Day," said Scott. "I’m going to be there on Election Day. I’m going to vote for Mitt Romney for President, Connie Mack for Senator, and I’m going to be voting down in Naples, Florida.”

Romney Slightly Edges Out Obama In Fla. Polls; Experts Call State A Toss-Up

Trying to predict who will win the presidential race in Florida is extremely difficult, even for seasoned political scientists. Polls are showing Barack Obama and Mitt Romney neck-and-neck among likely voters in the state.

For the past 20 years, University of South Florida political science professor Susan MacManus has been analyzing Florida politics. And if there’s one thing she’s learned?

“Just when people think they’ve got Florida figured out, they realize they don’t," she said.

Paul Ryan Rallies Supporters In Panama City

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and running mate Paul Ryan are barnstorming key states leading up to Tuesday’s election. Ryan stopped in Panama City, Florida on Saturday.

Hundreds of people gathered at the Panama City Marina to hear Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan’s promise to take the country in a different direction under the Romney/Ryan ticket.
