When it comes to parking in Midtown, Tallahassee officials say the some property surrounding the police department could provide a solution.

Early voting in Leon County begins Monday and runs through Sunday November 6th. Any registered voter may cast their ballot at seven different locations throughout Tallahassee, including the county courthouse, and at various public library branches. Leon County Supervisor of Elections Ion Sancho says residents can find more information in their voting guide.

The helicopter ambulance service Life Flight will continue to airlift patients in the Tallahassee area, despite shutting down its operations center in Midway this week.

Tallahassee retirement community Westminster Oaks is opening its doors to Jacksonville evacuees from Hurricane Matthew. Forty-seven assisted living residents from Westminster Woods, a sister facility in Saint Johns County, arrived Thursday morning, along with twenty staff members and their families.

Tallahassee Officials are assuring citizens the city’s water is safe to drink. Following the lead outbreak in Flint Michigan, officials say some residents are worried about water quality in Tallahassee. But Jennifer Porter with the city’s Underground Utilities Services says given the local water source, Tallahassee has no reason for lead concern.

Tallahassee already gives organizations holding public events and festivals a break on certain services. But now the city is offering a way for people planning a community event to get more support. Ashley Edwards is the director of the city’s Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department. She says applicants can request in-kind city services.
