Just like the people who suffer from it, the reasons for homelessness in the Big Bend are complicated. What ultimately stays constant is that diverse groups of individuals are stuck in unstable situations.

Florida homeless agencies are working to shelter people in the state. But proposed cuts to the Department of Housing and Urban Development could leave the state with fewer federal resources.

Tallahassee and the surrounding area have been grappling with homelessness for years.  After some organizational changes, the area is taking on a big project: ending veteran homelessness by 2016.
