WFSU-FM's Reporter's Notebook: What To Expect On The Air Today

Around the State

Governor Rick Scott just returned from Chile. Scott visited the South American country on a trade mission. He’s been on several since taking office, but what do these mission’s mean for Florida? Sascha Cordner will break it down and preview Scott’s next trade trip. He’s going to Japan.

As Scott maps out trade missions, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam is sticking closer to home. Putnam sat down with journalists for his quarterly “pad and pen” session. Jessica Palombo will let us know what she learned from the state’s head of agriculture.

Florida’s largest state-run property insurer has been in the news lately over a controversial deal allowing a private company to take over some of its policies. Intern Nick Evans sat down with Robin Westcott, the state’s insurance consumer advocate, to find out what consumers need to know about the new rules mandated by the legislature last session.

The Buzz In Tallahassee

Tallahassee rap artist “YT” isn’t your average hip hop musician. He daylights as a doctoral candidate and adjunct professor at FSU. Regan McCarthy caught up with Andrew Mannheimer whose video “Tallahassee” has hit more than 20,000 views.

And it’s that time again: The United Way of the Big Bend is taking time this week to thank all of its supporters, volunteers and donors. Ryan Benk will let us know what exactly the charity group has planned.
