WFSU-FM announces the promotion of Lynn Hatter to the position of News Director.

Lynn Hatter is a Florida A&M University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Hatter joined WFSU-FM/Florida Public Radio in 2007 as a reporter, with a longtime concentration in covering education issues.  Lynn has not only won three AP awards and four Society of Professional Journalists awards but she has also worked on several projects with NPR and currently contributes news reports for Kaiser Health News, a role that she assumed in 2011.  She worked with NPR’s learning initiative producing news stories on key Florida education issues.  She continues to represent WFSU as our key contact person with NPR for health care and education-related news stories.

“Lynn brings a formidable skill set to the job of covering one of Florida’s toughest news markets,” says Tom Flanigan, WFSU-FM’s Program Director for News.  “Her years of experience at the station and day-to-day involvement in covering all aspects of news in this region will serve her well in guiding the efforts of our outstanding team of reporters and producers.”

In her new capacity, Hatter will coordinate local and state government news production for WFSU and Capitol news coverage for other public radio outlets in Florida.
