Tallahassee Takes Emmy Awards

Florida’s Capital City took home some top prizes during last weekend’s Emmy Award ceremonies in Orlando. For WFSU, one of those awards came VERY close to home.

The 40th Annual Suncoast Emmy Awards were presented by the regional chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Not all of those prizes went to TV stations and production houses in the state’s largest markets. Tallahassee’s Zachary Group took home an Emmy in the Education category. Another local firm, Impact Visual Media, was a winner in the Societal Concerns department. The Capital City’s Evolution Media picked up two awards for Community Service. And then there was the Musical Composition Category. The winner there was the Local Routes Theme Song, written and performed by Belle and the Band for WFSU-TV’s Local Routes Show.
