Steve Stewart asks for an end to all third party attack ads at the end of the news conference

At a news conference Friday, Tallahassee City Commission candidate Scott Maddox attacked recent third party attack ads calling him a racist. The attack ad was based on his membership in a Southern Fraternity: the Kappa Alpha Order.  A committee called Citizens for a Better Tallahassee paid for the ad, but it’s unknown who is financially backing the committee. The committee has not disclosed any of its contributions or expenditures.

“Scott has had a great relationship and great record within all segments of our community. These types of attacks do nothing to advance our community. And I will tell you that many folks in this community of all races look to Scott for his leadership.”  Said State Representative Alan Williams at the media event.

Maddox’s opponent, Steve Stewart, who also attended Friday’s news conference, claimed no connection to the third party attack ads.
