RNC Kicks Off First Full Day Urging GOP Party To Get Romney Elected

The Republican National Convention started its first full day with a Fresh from Florida Victory Breakfast. Several of Florida’s top GOP leaders used the opportunity to sing the praises of Mitt Romney.

Tuesday’s Fresh from Florida Victory Breakfast kicked off with blueberry pancakes and an appearance from Florida’s Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam.

Well, Good Morning, Everyone," exclaimed Putnam, after he was introduced with the song "Eye of the Tiger" playing in the background. "Everybody looks reasonably bright eyed and bushy-tailed after night number one in the convention! Anybody still come in wearing the same tie they were last night?”

Putnam's remarks were met with laughs, and the laughs continued as Lieutenant Governor Jennifer Carroll made a slight error when talking about how the Mitt Romney is doing in the polls.

“Listening to the news and seeing that in one of our swing states, the President, I’m [using] foresight," laughed Carroll. "I mean, Governor Romney has been bringing up traction and taking a lead.”

After the crowd finished clapping and laughing with Carroll, she later outlined some differences between the former Massachusetts Governor and President Barack Obama. Carroll told the RNC attendees that Romney is the answer Americans need.

“If you feel that we need to get this country back on track, and give America the boost that it needs. Then, we have the answer, and that’s Mitt Romney," said Carroll. " If you feel that big government is getting in the way of America’s prosperity, then we have the answer, and that’s Mitt Romney. If you want to build a better pathway for better generations to come. Then, we have the answer, and that’s Mitt Romney.”

And, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi agrees. She says while she’s proud of the work she did when she led a legal fight against the Affordable Care Act, there’s only one real way Republicans can get rid of the law for good.

“We have to keep getting out there spreading the word through November, and I could sue the federal Government all day long. I will continue too, and my counterparts will, but the only way to stop it is to get Mitt Romney in the White House and Barack Obama out of it,” exclaimed Bondi as the crowd cheered her on.

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio was also at the Fresh from Florida Breakfast. He’s slated to introduce Mitt Romney Thursday, just before Romney ends the convention with his acceptance speech as the Republican presidential nominee. Republicans officially nominated Romney Tuesday.
