Poll Shows Support for Property Tax Cuts

Tallahassee, FL – The Quinnipiac poll finds support for two proposals that Governor Crist campaigned. A
hypothetical proposal including doubling homestead exemption, making save our homes
portable and a break for first time homebuyers is within the margin of error of the 60 percent super majority needed to pass. But Pollster Peter Brown warns if property tax reform fails, voters most likely will lay the blame at Crist's feet.

The governors' job approval ratings remain high at 65 percent. And 57 percent say Crist is keeping his campaign promises. By contrast only 36 percent of those surveyed say they Legislature is doing a good job.
