Perspectives: Emancipation Month

Along with the annual reenactment of the first reading in Florida of the Emancipation Proclamation at Tallahassee’s Knott House on May 20, 1865, there are many other observances in the area this year.  We get a preview from John G. Riley House Museum Director Emeritus Althasmese Barnes, Marion McGee, 2015 Conference Chair for the Florida African-American Heritage Preservation Network, and Sarah Shaw, museum education for the Florida Museum of History.
